About Cast Yer Bait

Cast Yer Bait Custom Rod and Tackle was born on a camping trip down the Upper St. Croix River. The three owners, Brad Meyer, Mason Meyer, and Caleb Marlowe realized the need for custom colored bait to match changing conditions. Not only was there a need for custom colors, but glitter density could be changed as well, different scents could be used, the plastics could float higher. The customizations are endless!

Understanding that high-quality gear helps put more fish in the boat, the conversation continued from custom baits, to custom-made fishing rods. With the ability to choose the best blanks, the best guides, and the best handle components, custom-made rods seemed to go perfectly with custom-made baits. Thus, Cast Yer Bait Custom Rod and Tackle was created.

Brad Meyer

Brad grew up in Northwest Wisconsin fishing the Upper St. Croix river. He has been an avid fisherman and outdoorsman his entire life. He has fished from northern Canada down to the Dominican Republic. Brad enjoys all types of fishing from fly fishing for Brook Trout to casting for giant Tarpon and everything in between.

He began rod building as a summer school project back in the mid 90’s. He’s been building custom rods for himself and friends ever since. With a perfectionists’ mentality he builds custom rods that are not only beautiful, but some of the best performing rods ever.

Caleb Marlowe

Caleb is a full-time middle school student in Blaine, MN. He has many hobbies outside of school that have a lot to do with the outdoors. Fishing and hunting have always been part of his life, learning how to fish with his papa when he was just 2 years old and hunting with his dad at the age of 5. Caleb has been a great pitcher for his baseball team the past 4 years and on the school’s trap team in the spring and fall. Caleb loves Large Mouth Bass fishing because they put up a big fight and are fun to catch. He loves fishing because it is something he has done since he was little, it is relaxing, and competitive. When Caleb isn’t fishing or playing sports, he has younger siblings that he loves to spend time with. He’s excited to grow Cast Yer Bait with his fellow owner and best friend since the 3rd grade, Mason.

Mason Meyer

Mason is a full-time middle school student in Blaine, MN. He’s involved in many extracurricular activities, including the traveling baseball team for the past 4 years and getting on the ice every winter to play hockey. In the fall and spring, he enjoys being part of the school’s trap team. In the spring of 2019, he was the youngest person on the team to ever shoot a straight 25! Mason and his father share many memories on the lake and river fishing. From catching Muskies in the fall, Bass in the spring and Walleyes all year round, they have had many fun adventures together. Mason’s favorite fish to catch is a Musky because they are big and powerful. He loves fishing because every fishing trip is different; different lures, different species and different adventures. In the fall and winter Mason also loves to deer hunt. Mason shot his first buck in the late fall of 2016!
